Can anyone explain the reason why my nevada l is considered too big for a standard pitch (the site in question will not be named as yet) they say a tent has to be less than 2.5m x 2.5m or for 4 persons, well if you can find me one that will fit me my wife and 2 kids i will happily go and buy it.

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Just don't go there, find somewhere that likes tenters! Bet they don't have that restriction on caravans, can you imagine telling a family of 4 in a caravan that it can't be any bigger than that!
This annoys me - there are plenty of families out there tent camping, yet there money does not seem important to some site owners. Yet the same sites allow large vans, with huge awnings.
If the campsite has a rule which states a tents maximum size, then they do. It is one of their rules and as simple as that and if you choose to go there you abide by the rules
Simply find another site that will accept a larger tent, job done.
Yes, of course if a site has limits - and if it has fixed size pitches then there will ahev to be a limit, go somewhere else. but typically the sorts of sizes were are tlaking about might be say 6M
But I'm wondering if what the OP wrote in the correct size limit, becuase 2.5m x 2.5 m isn't really very big in tent terms is it? My cycling/backpacking 2 man tent - a Saunders Spacepacker Plus it probably just a bit bigger than that.
vote with your feet and go elsewhere but 2.5 x 2.5m is tiny. Our pop up base is that size!!! and thats whithout any pop ups attached
