Plassay in North Wales, Wrexham, is good for young childern with covered table tennis and badmington, a nice playground and on site bar though of course costs more with these. There is also a swimming pool and a craft centre on site.
At this time of years it will only take caravans/motor homes and folding campers though and did seem a bit clicky when we were there at Easter but kids would have a ball. Toilets and showers plentiful too.
thanks for the input guys,i've just booked a site which gets good reviews and is close enough to chester zoo etc,i am now looking for something along the North Wales coast or fairly close to the coast.
fron farm is a wonderful campsite, but my favorite, or should i say my kids fav is greenacres farm park in deeside, has everything to offer kids, happy kids mean happy mums/campers, must be good we have been going for the past 5 yrs, roll on half term cant wait.

Hi I live very close to the Zoo - the nearest site I can think of is actually Fairoaks which is a nice site but doesn't have the facilities of Manor Wood & its still a drive away so probably wouldn't make much difference to you really. I drove past Manor Wood a few weeks ago and it looks lovely - it is out in the sticks though on windy country roads so it may take you a bit longer than you think to get to the zoo from there, prob around 30mins.
Anglesey has some lovely sites Home Farm is a Best of British site and Greenwood Forest Park which is very near Anglesey is a great place for the kids to visit but I don't know if you are wanting to go so far West.
