The Forestry Commission site at Hollands Wood is handy to New Forest Cycle tracks. We are having a family weekend August Bank Holiday and have booked at Long Meadow Campsite at Brockenhurst. The camping area is in an open field surrounded by forest and they have apparently installed some EHU this year. Cycle paths are accessible direct from the site. Get a copy of the "Cycling in the New Forest" Map which shows positions of pubs also and you will be able to cycle all day. A handy pub is The Oak at Bank near Lyndhurst.

The Wardens no. at Long Meadow is 07707 545414. The site is part of the New Park Estate and appears to be connected to the New Forest Showground. They have a website and there are good reviews on here of the site.

I've got a feeling this could be a "gem" of a site in the future particularly and I'm going to regret publicising this site as there will be difficulty getting in in future. Also there is pressure to close some of the Forest Commission sites including Hollands Wood.Hollands Wood doesn't have EHU's anyway.

Black Knowl CC site, Brockenhurst.  It will be our 3rd stay there when we go in the summer.  Already in middle of New Forest, when you exit the site.  Loads of cycling through the woods on good tracks.  Especially lovely in the evening when you can see the deers from the paths.  We rode to Lyndhurst, part in the forest and part on roads with our 8 year old and 2 year old in a bike trailer.  Found a nice pub and stopped for lunch.  Lovely shallow streams if you get brave and want to make some splashes.  Gets very booked up though well in advance.  Well kept site.
