Hi All

I am planning to take my 5 year old to explore Yorkshire for most of the summer holidays. We will be in out lovely old caravan but will be without a car for some of the time as husband has to work but will visit so I can move the van. Any suggestions for sites to consider.

Centenary way campsite in filey is a good choice for a few days near the beach when you dont have the car as it is about 10 mins walk to beach and boating lake. It is a safe and quite small site considering it is so close to the centre of filey. The playarea is ok but we just love the location for our kids. It isn't expensive either between £13-19 a night depending on season.

It is on the Coastliner bus route [bus stop outside site entrance]. Regular Bus service [half hourly] goes West into York/Leeds, East to Malton, Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington.

YCP is an excellent quiet site with excellent facilities.

how about ones near york, its a fab place for kids, so much to see and do, and many places free for kids to get in, we spent a weekend there,but not in the van, but my kids are asking to go back.

also there is one near bolton abbey in the yorkshire dales, so much for kids to do in that area with the abbey, and woods to explore.
