Well the Eden Project springs to mind straight away, I think there is something for most ages there.

Where are you staying, we were at Pentewan Sands a couple of years ago and loved it.  I'll try to remember where else we went!!

St Austell is a good base as you can get to most places from there.

Have fun!!

Hi Ang we were in StAustell 2 years ago for 2 weeks. We have two boys then they were 7 and 11.To be honest ours didnt really enjoy the Eden project found it a bit boring.St austell is in a good location for visiting St micheals Mount ,Lands End,Lizard peninsula,St ives .Newquay has great beeches and its only a 20 minute run.Tintagel castle is a good day out ours loved it.I suppose its what he likes you wont be bored they is loads to see and do its a lovely area we had never been before we had a great time.Hope that helps .

Nicest nearby beach is Gorran Haven, though I understand the pub there(The Llawnroc) is currently closed.

Snozzle (as they call it) is a good central base for exploring Cornwall. All you need is the weather.

Hi Ang. We've just come back from a week at saint minver. Kids aged 10 and 5 turned 6 whilst away loved Crealeys adventure park near Padstow just off the A39 Wadebridge Indian Queens road. They liked it that much went twice. Think they also do free return visit within the week unfortunately we didn't realise we were going back until the youngest decided he loved it that much he wanted to go back for his birthday! Play areas and rides all aimed at children and a log flume that you will get wet on! Also Padstow is a nice little town with big sandy beach when tide's out and speedboat out to mouth of estuary when tide in. Kids loved that too at least 15 mins racing out to sea and a possible sighting of dolphins for £5 a person. We didn't see any this time but i have seen them them there before and speedboat man says they've just returned.

Have a fab time it's nice down there

gorran haven is lovely for little ones sheltered and a stream runs down to the sea.

i dont think the eden project is for small children.

newquay zoo, also  there is a lot to do in and around newquay you wont have time to see everything.

i was going to say paradise bird garden in hayle but that quite a way for you.

have fun,

Gorran Haven is a lovely little fishing village not far. Lost gardens of heligan is on the way. Charlestown is a very old small port. They will have tall ships in. A lot of filming done there including the just released "Alice in wonderland" There is also a shipwreck museum there..

The really nicest beach is about a mile west of gorran Haven at Caerhays .

We loved the area.

If you don't know the site I would recommend it highly. Well situated, very friendly & helpful people (apart from the lawn mower man who never smiles) excellent takeaway.

The best fish & chips in cormwall in Gorran Haven just by the entrance to the harbour.

if your down by penzance there's an ice cream shop in newlyn that does tubs of ice cream with clotted cream and a flake. every time we go down we visit there at least once.

you could go to minick theatre down that way near portcurno then when your there visit the beach as well when it's sunny the water looks lovely.

Hi, we took our 5 year old grandaughter to Tregarton Park 2 years ago & she loved it, she saw a leaflet for Dairyland near Newquay, I was a bit unsure about it but we had a great day out. When we return to Cornwall, Dairyland will be top of the list.
