Hi thinking of booking a site in Anglesy for spring bank hol wondering how windy its likely to be. anyone been this time of year. .
If you want calm waters then i'd go on the eastern side as it's protected and not facing the irish sea and all it's elements...but bare in mind when the forecasters predict wind, Anglesey can be fierce, as i found out last month.
Anglesey is windy all the time, just some days are worse than others,as said, the east of the island is less windy,as the wind blows itself out mostly before it gets there.most sites on the west are quite open, and tend to get the wind more, but all are nice sites. We seem to have our own weather system here, once off the island its totally different.Thats why its called the windy isle.lovely area though,if you do get it where its calm, you wont find a nicer area
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We went last august for 1 week at home farm, nice site but it blew a gale and we left 2 nights early. We were situated on the top field which took the full force, the tent next to ours was damaged and another one actually got lifted up and re located. It was a good test for our Outwell Nevada M and it came through with flying colours. ANGLESEY NEVER AGAIN !!!!
Anglesy is a fab place and worth a little windy weather lol. We normally go this time a year for my hubby's birthday on the 5th and i cant remember a time when we havn't come back with a tan! As Adrian says, Anglesey seems to have its own weather system. It can be raining on one side of the island and 10 mins futher up the road hot and sunny as we have found many a time, but when it rains, boy it rains
