Hi All, Hoping to visit Brighton during Pride week, only two sites listed here, both fully booked. Does anyone know of any others nearby, with good public transpot links into Brighton?

You could try here. It's a very basic site, but only a few minutes walk to the station, and Brighton is only 6-8 miles away.

There's a bus stop on the main road as well, and buses are pretty frequent.

You do have to be a C&CC member to stay, but you can join on site.

Hope this helps.

Train station into Brighton in the town/village about 15 minutes walk away. Stayed here when it was ghastly but by all accounts its scrubbed up nicely now.

This is where I stayed for last years Pride (the one where it tipped down all day!) The Stn is right outside the site and stops at the Stn before reaching Brighton Central. I cant remember the name now, sorry. The site is a mix of tourers and statics. There is heavy seasonal pitch use. You can use the clubhouse onsite and the staff are friendly enough.

Sheepcote Valley Caravan Club site (out by the Marina) is fully booked at the moment. I stayed there though this last weekend and the warden assured my friends that there would be cancellations so its worth ringing them every so often.

Hope that helps. See you there, keep your fingers crossed for better weather than last year!

I think the train station, ideal for Preston Park, is called Brighton (London Road). You'd be dropped off virtually in the parade!

Thanks for the replies. I origionally booked The Barn, but have cancelled it and booked Buckle holiday Park, as it sounds a little less remote and easier to get into Brighton - Good price at a flat £15, especially as I don't know what the combination of adults/children coming will be yet.

There are ten rail stations in the Brighton and Hove area between them located on three lines converging at Brighton Station.

From the Seaford/Lewes direction into Brighton you will need to alight at the London Road (Brighton) Station for access to (The) Preston Park.

From the London direction you will need to alight at Preston Park Station for access to (The) Preston Park.

From the Worthing direction you get a choice of changing at Brighton and travelling to either London Road or Preston Park Station, or going on the loop line between Hove and Preston Park Station.

Hope this makes sense, but from Seaford get off at London Road.

The problem with Sheepcote Valley Caravan Club site, when hoping to pitch your tent, is that the camping field is filled on a first come first served basis. Also on Pride weekend, it might be a bit livelier and possibly a bit noisier than usual.
