Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help, we would like to go camping in the Dalby forest area in yorkshire and would ideally love to take our mountain bikes. Can anyone recommend a good campsite, possibly with secure cycle storage and/or close to Dalby Forest for mountain biking. Thanks, Freddy

Hi Freddy, Have you looked at pexton moor farm?  It's right at the entrance to the forest.  We stayed there for a long weekend last year and really enjoyed it.

Denise.

The Vale of Pickering is a great site within 15 minute drive of Dalby Forest (Thornton-le-Dale end entrance).

The reviews say it all, I even posted one because I was so impressed!

High Rigg Farm is actually in the forest.

I've not stayed there myself but I was marshalling for a car rally in the forest and the site was v close. People staying at the site came up to our corner to view.

I doubt you will need security for the bikes at this site.

Hi everyone, will have a look at Pexton, Vale of Pickering and High Rigg, reckon High Rigg might suit us best as security is always an issue with the bikes, and like the idea of actually being in the Forest.

Thanks again, Freddy
