We have got a theatre booking in Liverpool on Saturday 28th August. We would like to take the caravan and enjoy a weekend away visiting Liverpool and taking in the show in the evening. Could anyone advise on a caravan site that is near to Liverpool or easy to commute to Liverpool city centre for example near to train station or bus route. We are flexable and do not mind small 5 van sites, farms or pubs that offer caravan facilities. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

We stayed on the CC site at the Wirrall and caught a train into Liverpool - couple of years ago. Site was great and made the journey into Liverpool great as we didnt then have to find parking etc..  Have a good time.

We stayed at Abbey Farm in Ormskirk, good rail links to Liverpool, we did it twice during the week we were there, very nice site too.

We stayed at Church farm Thurstaston and parked in West Kirby and got the train into Liverpool

Abbey Farm nrOrmsksir is a lovely site
Willowbank nr Ainsdale is also local, but you would need to drive to a railway station.

The Caravan Club in Southport - may be members only.

wirral country park has a campsite, also church farm, but i think its expensive, surprisingly there isnt many campsites on the wirral/merseyside area despite what we have to offer, great beaches, lovely countryside, lovely city with loads of museums, etc etc.

Church Farm was cheaper than Wirral country park caravan club site last year when we stopped there
