I'm looking for campsites nr to beach/sea on the east coast of Scotland, we are family of five going on our 2nd camping adventure...so looking at places up North, we were also told the Midges problem not bad on the east compared to the west...any advise would be grateful..
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Aberdeenshire Council has a few coast campsites. Have used the one at Stonehaven and found it okay. I think there's reviews on this site. Only a road between site and sea and a fantastic chipshop and icecream shop 2 minutes away. 5 mins takes you into the town. Haven't used any of the others so can't help sorry. There is other sites further up the coast but haven't used them either sorry, we don't tend to stick too close to home.
There are no midges on the east coast. You could try Findhorn, Burghead ...many in that area. Further south there's, Cyrus Bay and Montrose etc. See campsite search.
