This year we are foregoing our normal camping holiday in the East of England and are going to explore Gwynedd. We need a mobile home type holiday in August as we will be travelling back from Ireland by car (having stayed with the in-laws). I really want to explore some castles in north Wales, whilst the OH and the kids have some beach and bar fun etc.

Any ideas for a decent holiday park in this area - it doesn't have to be all singing and dancing, but a bit of food/drink on site would be good. We are normally tenters so this will be a bit of a departure from the norm for us but to go to a place I adore I don't mind doing something different.

Thanks guys and gals.

Hi there

Just got back from Brynteg holiday park near Caernarvon. We stayed in a static but there were log cabins as well. Site is immaculate and not too busy (it was half term) as 80% is privately owned. We booked via hoseasons. Pool is small but lovely and warm - and nice seating area around it to relax with a book in the heat. Didn't try the restaurant. There is a small shop, play park etc. staff are very helpful. The site is handy for trips to all the north wales castles, anglesey, snowdon, Llyn penninsula etc. Hopes this helps

Gorse Hill Caravans just east of Conwy, with stunning views over the estury may suit your needs, its a privatley owned site with clubhouse, swimming pool and static caravans built into the hillside on terraces, so theres always lovely views and sunsets to enjoy, yet easy access to take your car upto the side of the van.

They were developing the onsite manorhouse last i heard, so probably even more facilities available now than when we used to stay a couple of years ago.
