We have returned after having a relaxing week at Sandringham. It is a huge site and I believe 4-5 couples run the site. However I have some gripes.

1. lots of dogs were not on leads.

2 Ball games every where

Our tent became a goal post and /or cricket wicket we had children playing ball games without any consideration to other campers. I did politely ask that maybe they played on the designated ball game area but to no avail. Once while eating in the tent a cricket (yes cricket )ball landed on our table!!!!!! Strange how they didnt play near their units.

3. I dont think anyone bothered to use the mop after showering, consequently muddy foot prints were left within shower cubicles.

I know I sound like a moaning old fart but I feel that some people are extremely inconsiderate of others and their property.

Thats it said it now.

I did complain to the site managers who agreed with me!

Its a rather different picture just around the corner on the Sandringham Caravan Club site, superbly managed, and one of our favourites, but unfortuantely no tents allowed unless they are somehow attached to a trailer!

Thanks for your responses. I do feel that as tent campers- the family  we had bother with, assumed it would be ok to bounce their muddy cricket/ foot balls at our tent preferable to damaging their caravan.

While I appreciate caravans are considerably more valuable, to me my £430 tent is valuable to me and I dont want muddy ball marks all over it!

The shop at Sandringham site (not associated with the club) mentioned that the current managers have been in situe for 3-4 years and before this time Sandringham had a much better reputation.!

Yes you should complain, we have also noticed that they’re are more and more people that ignore rules on caravan club sites too, last week we witnessed kids playing cricket between vans on the road way, also kids playing in the keep out conservation area instead of using the play area or ball field. The worse thing we saw was kids running round units and on other peoples pitches with play guns shooting each other and rolling round the ground nearly into our BBQ and us sitting eating!  Don’t get me wrong I am all for kids having fun and playing but not at the expense of everyone else around them. Though after this weeks events and the shootings I was a bit disturbed by kids shooting each other so soon after……..

The other thing we have noticed is units getting bigger, e.g. a motor home with a large tent – not actually attached, they had car on one side, and a tent on other of a motor home and then large area next to tent on what looked like the next door pitch with tables paddling pool and wind breaks we felt so sorry for the people next to them. It really looked like two families sharing one pitch!
