Hi,

Does anyone know of a campsite in North Yorkshire that doesn't charge the earth in August for a two man tent that doesn't need ehu?

I'm trying to find a site where my daughter and her boyfriend can stay without hook up but also me, hubby and younger kids are going as well in our larger tent and we would like EHU.

Most places seem to want to charge the same for a small two man tent and family tent.

I've spent ages on the campsite search but not had much look so far!

Thanks.

Hi

I have not looked in to prices as yet for you but I grew up in a village just outside York. We used to ride our bikes to a place called Acaster Malbis. It is a nice little village and I liked the camp site I used to see there, I have not stayed though but it may be on the reviews site, Moor End Farm I think it is.
The Ship Inn was a favourite of ours for food and it had a great play area too when I was little! It is on the river's edge.
Not sure if it will suit but just an idea.

We stayed here this weekend and its a lovely site set out in 2 flat fields with a mixture of tourers statics and tents mixed in so there is no feeling of us and them if you see what I mean.
By day its a nice quiet relaxing site and the same in the evening the only problem we found was the close proximity with the lane but saying that there was very little traffic on this road apart from the regualar cyclists.
Price wise we where charged £16 a night for 2 adults, 2 teenagers, and 2 dogs with electric up.
One thing to bare in mind though is that this is a working dairy farm so you do get the occasional moo especially at milking time.
Hope you enjoy your camping in North Yorkshire.
