Hello all!

First post on here, having used this site for a couple of years since we got into camping for site reviews!

We've booked in to Highlands End near Eype for a week at the end of July & after reading the reviews on here we've selected "Area 2" with an EHU.  We never usually have an EHU, but since nearly all the reviews for the site mention the wind & "Area 3" being more than a bit exposed, we thought we'd play safe!

Just wondered if I could pick the Forum's collective brains.......

Just how windy does it get there?!

It looks like a great site & in terms of how it looks for what it costs, it certainly seems like a good site.

Always mention the website when I talk to camp sites (although none of them have commented yet!)

Thanks!

M

It's a lovely site with loads of facilities. The only thing we didn't like was the loads of static vans that you had to pass through to get to the caravan bit, but that was just us.

Yes it can be extremely windy there. It's very high up and very exposed with unparallelled views to the east as far as Portland and goodness knows how far west on a clear day but when that westerley blows up the
Channel, hang on to your hats! Just make sure your awning is well and truly anchored down. When we were there and the wind blew, we also hitched the caravan to to car as an additional precaution.

Vic
