Hi, my children are desperate to see the sites of London. We would like a site easily accessable from the North with EHU and toilet and shower facilities. Nearby public transport into the capital would be good. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Abbey Wood Caravan Club Site, not that we have been there yet, but have put it in my virtual brochure ready for when we go to London!!! Looks good, and has got some good reviews on here. Hoping to go there later on.
If you are a member of the Caravan Club they have several campsite in and around London, including the one mentioned by Tible. We have just returned from their site at Denham, just off the M25 near Uxbridge, and you can catch the train from Denham Green about a mile and a half from the site.
We stayed at Horsley C & CC site a few years back which was lovely and quiet with a small lake for those that enjoy fishing. Trains to Waterloo from the village just down the road and handy for Legoland and Hampton Court as well.
They also have a site next to the Thames at Chertsey off the M25, not been but it's on our list of places to visit. Both sites are open to non-members.
The sites with probably the best public transport links into central London from the north are the Lee Valley campsites mentioned by 'andyjack' above. Otherwise Theobalds Park Camping & Caravanning Club Site is excellent.
In any case, the best way of getting the most economical fares into central London is by getting yourselves Oyster cards.
Hope this helps

We have been to Commons Wood Caravan Club site. Bus stop outside to Welwyn Garden city (takes about 10mins) and got train from Welwyn garden city to London (took 20 mins) cost £16 including tube travel (there was a book of discount tickets on counter, ask ticket clerk) got into Tower of London 2 for 1. Found Public transport to Welwyn and into London quite regular, Commons wood was a nice site and easy to find from A1.
Many thanks everyone for your replies, plenty of sites for me to look into. Thanks for the offer andyjack, hopefully we can get booked in and visit the Capital in the October half term.
