I'm a teacher at a private school and I'm thrilled to have already broken up for the summer holidays.
My 14-old son is not so thrilled and driving me round the bend already! Most of his friends have shot off on exotic holidays, but we have little cash (I'm a teacher!) and I'm struggling for ideas to keep him busy.
Are there any campsites with activity stuff that's open this early in the summer? Or does anybody want a lanky restless teenager, any offers accepted?

Where are looking at going. Some one mentioned [URLhttp://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=1266]River Dart[/URL]
I have not been but it has cracking reviews and im thinking of going.
Not sure if there is such a thing but what about a camping- come- farming/activity holiday where you get to stay on a farm and help out with activites? It would keep him occupied and tire him out aswell!

Hi there,
I'm off to Home Farm in York this weekend for our 1st camping trip. It'll just be me and my 12yr old son. Picked this one because of the reviews on here, plus there is a stream that josh and my cocker can play in and it's a working farm. I also worry that Josh might get bored with camping but am hoping this is something we can do together for next few years.
Sarah
Good luck Sarah! I'm sure you will have a fab time with Josh. I have an 11 yr old who I know will enjoy wherever we go, it's just my 14 yr old who is harder to please.

My lad is 14 and daughter 13 - we are going, yet again! (it's great!) - to Glenmore which is miles away I know but fab - you've got Rothiemurchus estate where you can fish, quadbike, clay pigeon shoot, ride horses etc etc - google it. On Loch Morlich at Glenmore you can kayak (rent one) and you can walk up Cairngorm mountain or go and feed reindeer..I am wondering what we will do from now on as they are starting to moan this year so maybe this is the last year in this format!! They also like going body boarding in Polzeath so we do that as well ...
