Have phoned the number on their website which seems to be no longer in use, but found another number which took me to automated booking/payment recordings. The question i was hoping to ask was...... if we turn up at Roundhill(New Forest) July 26th are we likely to get a pitch without pre booking? Any regular visitors, locals who can help?
Cheers HL

I used to live in Southampton and often just turned up without booking but there have been many changes and more people camping. Just looked in C&CC book and it mostly mentions booking. The book states "Forest Holidays pitch sizes are with a maximum unit size of 6 x 8m allowed on any one pitch, including guy ropes. If the unit is larger than this then an XL unit needs to be booked. Forest Holiday Pitches are not marked by boundaries. They are not numbered. When you arrive you will be given a site map and shown where the type of pitch you have booked can be found. You are then free to choose your own pitch. .....keep to the 6m between units rule"
Not sure what phone numbers you used but these are in C&CC 2010 book "can be booked directly through Forest Holidays by calling 0845 130 8224 or by calling www.forestholidays.co.uk"
Roundhill Site phone number is 01590 624344 but it won't be manned all the time. Hope this info helps.

Know the area well and are fortunate to have friends in Netley so i think we might just try our luck? if we can't get on it will be their garden or the sailing club.

That's where we stayed last w/e on the Victoria Country Park at Netley Sailing club... fortunate to know a member! Beautiful area, and the ghost stories from the locals were great, has quite a history the Hospital!
