Hi
Humour me!!!

I really need to find a quiet campsite with large pitches for the August B/H week, so am wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

When I say quiet, I don't mean in a quiet location, although we would like this, I mean with a genuinely enforced quiet time at night, something like Castlerigg Farm where they are very strict.

The only thing is I would like to able to book and campers can't at Castlerigg Farm. Apart from a toilet and preferably a shower we do not need any other facilites. Oh, but they must accept a dog and quiet child.

I'm really hoping someone can suggest a hidden gem, and will consider anywhere in England, Wales or Southern Scotland.

Please help
Many Thanks in advance

We have recently come back from Bashley Park. We have 2 little monsters and was worried that it might be noisy at night and keep them awake.

It wasnt, not a peep. Loved it so much we have booked to back for another week in August!

Bashley gets my vote every time.  East Fleet Farm in Weymouth is also good for families and there's great fireworks display on Aug Bank Hol Monday on the beach, a bus runs from the site too.

Glen Nevis has a very strict no noise rule at night. It is a beautiful site with smashing views up to Ben Nevis and great walks nearby.  Facilities are very good as well.  A wonderful area for exploring the highlands of Scotland.

Another beautiful site is Castle Point in Rockcliffe, Dumfries and Galloway - views to die for and great coastal walks.  No shop or pub for over a mile - but the views.................wow

The only problem with Bashley is that they don't accept tents.

If you have children

our August BH camp site at Stapleford Miniature Railway and steam rally is ideal as it is a massive field in rolling parkland so you can park where you want and it is well away from the beer tent and night time entertainment at its furthest and is sheltered by the hill so very quiet.

The kids would love the steam trains which although only open to the public on the sunday and monday will be running on saturday for caravaners and campers through the park which is easily viewd from the camping field

The only draw back is that we dont have hook ups or amenties blocks on site only Elson and portaloos.

we are open from the friday through to the Monday night/ Tuesday with the event taking place over the Sunday and BH Mon. Nearby, over 20 miles of  family safe off road cyling available at Rutland Water with own or hired bikes inlcuding todler and baby trailers or towed bikes for the in between older ones.

and its just £20 for a pitch for the whole weekend BBQs and behave dogs accepted.

we are about 100 miles mid way between Leeds and London 20 mins off the A1 heading towards Melton Mowbray Leics

LE14 2SF

we have only ever heard praise from folks that have stayed with us over the last 15 years and we only open twice in  mid June and August BH every year for charity

Thanks for all the suggestions,

fmsr sounds like a great site, but I'm afraid we are hoping to continue camping until the weekend after the B/H Mon. Otherwise we would be interested.

Bashley Park doesn't take tents!

Garlieston Lodge is adults only!

Castle Point & Cote Ghylllook great so I will investigate further.

Would really appreciate any further suggestions.

Req:
Quiet location & quiet at night
Accepts dog and child
Prefer tents only, but must accept tent
Prefer smaller farm site
Anywhere in England, Wales and Southern Scotland.

Anyone?
Thanks in advance
