Is there a usual pitch size policy for tents? We're planning on our first tent being a Vango Colorado 600DLX and presumed this would be accepted everywhere, after all its not that big. But someone has put doubt in my mind saying that many sites will not accept it...do you think this true?
Thanks in anticipation
Matt
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Pitch sizes will vary from park to park. The Camping & Caravan Club (CCC) have a pitch size of 8m x 5m (think thats correct). Some parks will ask you for the size of your tent so make sure you have that to hand. Sometimes you may need to book 2 pitches if the tent goes over the pitch size.
Looking at the footprint of your tent,as its more than 5 metres wide then you could have a problem on some sites. You could be asked to pay extra for a jumbo pitch or even to take 2 pitches,it all depends on how strict the site manager is

I would never pay for two pitches, if the site doesn't have pitches big enough I find one that does, there are lots that take bigger tents, there's a comprehensive list on here.
we got refused the other day for being over 20ft long, we purchased another tent this week to cover all eventualitys now we have one inside the boundarys set and one large for sites that dont have limits
We've actually changed our mind and gone for the Orchy 600, as little smaller and looks a bit easier to errect, especially with it being out first. Should be delivered ina few days!
