Hi Everyone, I live in Weston super Mare and I have just bought a new(secondhand) frame tent. I want to go and put the tent up somewhere localish, not weston, but within 20 miles. Trouble is all the parks I have contacted are just too expensive, the last one I emailed want £28 per night, and all I want to do is try out my new tent. Looking for somewhere with a little play area, shower block, nothing special.. under £20 pn, any ideas?

I like the look of this one, it's near Cannington (Bridgwater) and looks like it's in a lovely quiet setting next to a reservoir.  Small play area and games field, donkeys and stream.  I did speak to them yesterday about booking but they have a 4 night min stay in high season.  It is going on my list of "must stay" sites though.

I just gave them a ring, they can't fit us in as they have a large group booking, which is a shame that would have been perfect.

Thorney Lakes at Langport is a lovely site, loads of room to run around but no play area.  We are going there Saturday and do not have a minimum stay.

This one also looks nice near Bridgwater:

Right on the money at £20 per night all in (I think!)

How about this one, Moorhouse near Bridgewater.

We stayed there very recently, there is no play area but if you are only going for one night, do you really need one ? There is plenty of space for games, football etc. The toilets and showers are lovely and clean and spacious, there are private wetrooms as well.

The lady who owns the farm is very helpful and there seems to be an extra field that can be used if the main camping area is full.

Hi everyone thanks for all the replies! I have managed to book three nights at Cheddar Camp, no play area but campfires allowed and it is only £5 pppn and she said she wouldn't charge me for the youngest so that is great, I'm happy! Although I have saved Moorhouse near Bridgewater to my favourites as that is also a great price, thanks! I'll leave a review and let you all know what it was like...now hope the tent is all in order!

This is a really handy thread, meant to comment to say thank you, as I'm near Bridgwater and want to find some bolt-holes to explore - there are so many sites around here and some are so tucked away it's very hard to know where to start! The only ones I end up seeing are those by the main road I travel along, but I don't like sites by main roads so it's a bit daft to only take note of these ones as I wouldn't want to stay there LOL.
