and we've less midges on the East Coast    I wont say none as we do get them sometimes.

The campsite in Wick is lovely.  I haven't stayed there as I live just across the river from it, but the people who own it are very helpful.  Only a couple of miles from a quiet sandy beach, we have the Old Pultney distillery, Sinclair and Girnigoe castles (ruins) and the Heritage Centre is worth a visit for the history of the area and the  fishing fleet etc 

Lots of places in the area for dog walking too, with lovely scenery.

Cullen is a lovely place, but I've never stayed there yet, only passed through

In between Cullen and Portsoy is the small fishing village of Sandend. We stayed at the site there in June, more or less had the whole beach to ourselves.

Liked it that much we are going back next month for a longer period.
