There is a very well thought of site, one junction down M1 at Durkar; can't recall the name of it though.  It is next to the Pugneys Country/Water Park.  Only about 2 or 3 miles from Ossett centre.

Also, there is a site at Nostell Priory, but this is about 5 miles away from where you want to be.

Ossett Town football ground is right in the centre of the town (opposite the bus station). There are no campsites anywhere in the immediate Ossett area that I know of... As Nick Y says, there is one at Nostell Priory but that is a drive away.

I was born not far away in Horbury, but lived from an early age up to my late teens in Ossett.

Nostel Priory are "funny" about tents. It is a lovely site in a great location, but upon visiting to take a look I was told by the receptionist that "only 2 man tents will be accepted" as they have had "complaints about overcrowding in the past due to large family tents". All this is code for "we don't like tenters, we prefer caravans" I'm afraid to say.

The Durkar site looks like a none starter also as it only accepts vans, but at least they are up front about it.

Worth contacting them anyway as they may accomodate you.

In short campsites around here are like rocking horse poo, good look. 

Your nearest campsite will be Holme Valley at Holmfirth. Not really staggering distance though.  Elland Hall at Elland is another one but again not staggering distance.

I hope your not going to be drinking to make you stagger  It not allowed in Ossett there`s no pubs

Only kidding there are lots of them.

Many of the pubs in Ossett have recently closed down!
