HI
yes fished Sandy Balls several times Had chub to 6lb roach dace etc no luck with the barbel, very weedy in summer, pacy stretch some good swims, bit of a trek down a path on the site to the river.
If you camp in the Ringwood area ( several sites listed in the search area) there are several stretches of the Avon that issue day tickets, Ringwood tackle in Ringwood would be a good source of info, A few of the sites have direct access to the river cant remember off hand which
you could also fish the Stour which is within an easy drive of Ringwood and again has several day ticketed areas Throop is a good day ticket has weir pools and slow bends, very good catches of chub and barbel. Also waterworks stretch at Longham is very good
There is a couple of sites around christchurch again check the search area closer to the Stour.
There is always the Royalty fishery lots of big fish but pricey dayticket
