Our son loves playing in water, building dams, spashing etc. Can anybody recommend one within 2 hours of Manchester

If the site also has a zip wire, play park and run around space then thats a bonus

Apparently Clitheroe Camping and Caravanning Club site has the River Ribble running through it. I've not been though.

How about this one - always fancied it but never been.

Not sure if that link will work - but it's Riverside Camping in Caernarfon - you can find reviews on here.

Slengingford Mill is nr Ripon and fantasitc for kids who like water, worth taking a dinghy too

play area is pointless but plenty of other stuff to do - including watching the kayakers do the grade 3 rapids, riverside walk to good pub, bug hunts (they have bug hotels!) etc. Roads are great for kids to cycle too

eskdale, lake district

not been in 10 years but this site had all you asked for (including zipline)
also has a little steam railway running past the back field

its better to take the coast road than going over hardnot pass though (tiz a tight squeez if theres trafic)

This was a favourite with my 2 boys when they were young. The river is shallow and our boys use to play with a dingy for hours. Also has a good play area.

Cwm Cadnant in wales is a lovely little site, we have jsut had 3 days there and there is a little stream running through it (shallow enough for kids to play in) There is a little play area too, unfortunately while we were there it was torrential rain and the play area got quite boggy but it didnt put our daughter off she got her wellies on and splashed in it!!
