When it comes to holidays it really has to be each to their own. We have all saved and planned to make the time enjoyable and memorable. I don't think anyone has the right to judge others choices.

I for one do not go on holiday to make new friends  - I enjoy the company of my family and we like to explore new areas or old favourites and we use our tent and campsite as an accomodation base not as a place to socialise or spend long amounts of time. We also have a son with special needs and we know what he requires to make him happy and safe and we pitch our tent and windbreaks to keep him from being able to escape too easily. It often looks like a big corral! I am however not opposed to a quick chat with anyone always say hello etc. to those pitched around us. When we have taken non camping holidays are actions are the same the thought of an all inclusive break fills me with dread but for others it is the best and most exciting option.

All that said I must add there is a big difference between children enjoying themselves and playing with friends and rowdy unsupervised young louts causing mayhem and havoc with a ball game all over the site (everywhere but their own pitch!) and upsetting lots of people and whose parents don't seem to have any thought for the feelings of others or see that their children are doing anything wrong.  A football in the middle of your camp kitchen can be dangerous as well as damn annoying.

We all have our likes/dislikes and reasons for doing things our way and trying our best to enjoy our holidays.

I hope we all have a great summer enjoying the great outdoors

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

ok, well, i seem to have to applogise for having children on a child site!  whats more it is a site specifically designed for young children.

I have no problem with windbreaks and understand why some people would want to use them, i also have a problem with other peoples kids using my area as a football pitch as do i have a problem with unnecessary noise from fellow campers - whether that be adults loud chatter till late at night when my kids are sleeping, or kids running round screaming for no reason.

my children all go to bed by 7:30pm and wake at 7am, i don't think that is unreasonable. They have all been brought up either camping or on my parents boat, so generally respect that they can be heard easily.

As for our situation, being the friendly camper i am, i decided to put out the olive branch and as managed to have a lovely chat with them last night and they even had a laugh with us as we managed to be a day behind what it actually was - and we would have outstayed our time! just goes to show we can relax!!   we exchanged info on where we had been and what was useful to know!

yes we have 3 children under 5, that i can not change, i can not even make them silent for those of you who feel children should be seen and not heard, but we will enjoy our holiday with the upmost respect to fellow campers and with as much fun and enjoyment for my children to grow up remembering the happy days of camping and may even become the campers of tomorrow.

We do love camping, we do love other campers, we just want our neighbours to be as happy with their holiday as we are.

All's well that ends well then. The miserable campers are no longer miserable and the OP has managed to get them talking and make their holiday as happy as theirs.
