Hi all

We are looking to go to Crimdon dene for the bank holiday weekend but reading the reviews on here i am not too sure!! Saying that all the reviews are from last year and i am sure it has had a recent make over anyone been this year and is it worth going for the weekend or should we stay well clear??

The other option was sandy bay!! any views on this also very appreciated!!

Have stayed at both sites, both only once and about 4 /5 years ago. Never again. Not sure what the reviews say, bit both sites were very poor. Toilets at Sandy Bay were a portakabin, while the Bays at Crimdene are now all Hardstanding but often underwater and lots not level. I am not a snob, but both sites are full of families, who enjoy swearing both at each other and couldnt care about anyone else. When we complained about the toilet block at Sandy Bay we were told to leave the site if not happy.

I would try Haggerston if you can get a good deal, or try Eyemouth which is a lovely site.

Thanks miss baritone for your input may spend a weekend and see what we think thanks for your help!! Its just to keep  the kids occupied for a weekend (4 & 7)  so thought the pool park etc were a good idea!

A bit more info now we've been there 10 days.

We haven't been into the pool so can't comment on that. The club house is very small for a site of this size and could do with a refurb but the meal we had there was nice and a reasonable price.

The concrete pitches are on a very slight slope which isn't a problem in itself but when it rains water cascades through the awning because of the slope.

The site was fine for a weekend but I wouldn't stay longer than that
