We are new caravanners with no kids but I don't want Saturday night to be like a night in Ibiza 15 years ago!
We went for the C&CC Windermere site - great. plenty of kids, dogs, hillwalkers and nothing more than a frisbee contest that got heated when a nearby Dad knew best (sound familiar gentlemen!)
Easy access, clean facilities, no queues and staff helped us hitch and setup!
Barnard Castle is sounding good though although we need a site for the Duxford Airshow so a journey south beckons - thoughts anyone!
Do not despair, there are plenty of nice sites that do have a strict quiet policy. We were away in May, and although the site was very busy during the day, and the play area was noisy with kids having a great time, there was no loud music etc and come 11pm it was quiet.
Although this site was in Wales, I am sure that there are similar sites all over the place.
I have been on a site with the campers from hell so know what it is like.
Filey Brigg Country Park, Filey. Just spent a week there (2 adults / 2 young kids) and it ticks all of your boxes. Would happily go back and would recommend.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Would second Wolds Way. Stayed for a week at the first week of school holidays. Still loads of room for kids to play about in and on the play park. We didn't see the youngest for ages either feeding the horses cows and sheep or playing on the park. It's fairly noisy til 9-10 due to the children playing but very quickly quietened down once kids retired to bed. it's a mile and half off main road on its own road so very safe and you have to crawl past the pigs and all their little piglets when entering and leaving! Coast about half hr away with nice big sandy beaches.
