can anyone out there help us to find camp sites, suitable for motor homes ,that are close to. {ie withine walking dist of a town etc} as most  sites ,are ,too far to walk to a pub /town or village. most adverts do not tell you how close or far ,they are to these places, would be grateful for any info on places you know or have been to thank you

Google maps is your friend here, if you see a site you fancy take a look on google maps, use the satellite imagery to find the site itself (rather than just using the postcode) then see where the town/village is. 

We have used quite a few which are near towns but it depends where you want to go, and also what you define as walking distance.  We have stayed at sites and walked into town no problem, where reviews by others have indicated it was too far to walk!

Have a look at  Moffat CCC site, Braemar CC site, Banchory CC site, Maragowan CC site, Broadway CC site, Stratford on Avon Racecourse, Cirencester CC site, Tewkesbury Abbey CC site, Moreton in the marsh CC site, Cheddar CC site, Melrose CC site and I will no doubt remember a few more over the evening.
