You could try Centenary Way at Filey - a bit nearer for you. We stayed next door at Muston Grange but Centenary Way looked really nice. It is a 10 minute walk into Filey - good long promenade for getting baby to sleep, nice beach, not too many amusements and not far from Scarborough or Bridlington.
I have stayed at the Camping and Caravanning Club site at Scarborough which is really good with a pub next door and about 20 minutes walk down to the seafront.
There are so many sites in this area it might be worth letting us know a bit more about what you want from a site e.g. quiet and peaceful, entertainment at night, swimming pool etc.

ps pixie69 - you would get a better response if you posted this on the UK campsites part of the forum.

Filey Brigg Country Park.

Just had a week there. Went and had a look at Centenary and Muston for future consideration and both were a fair way from Filey by comparison and pitches were smaller (particularly Muston).

Filey Brigg is less than 5 mins walk to the beach and just over 5 mins to the town centre. Its location is excellent. We have two kids (7 and 9) and they loved the place.

The c&c site at Scarborough is lovely (we've stayed there aswell) but very expensive toward all other sites we've stayed on (club and private).

The Star pub is 5-10 mins from Filey Brigg site on the way into town. Does meals (has a nice area at the back of the pub) and is child friendly. Only popped in on the way back from town, but in comparison with other pubs in Filey which were a bit dark and musty its just been renovated, has a pool table and is a nice place. Plenty of families in there eating or playing pool/ relaxing with kids when we dropped in for a pit stop after a quick shop for bits after a day on the beach.

The Corner Cafe is a nice place to eat. If you phone or pop in and book for between 5-6pm kids eat free. I can't remember what age they class 'kids' upto though. Its next to the bus station.

Not my cup of tea, bit you also have a Haven place on the other side of Filey (Primrose Valley) which has lots for kids/teens. I routed one of my morning runs to go through and have a look (also did this for Muston and Centenary Way to get an idea how close they were to the beach and town). I know they are statics or tourers but you can walk up there off the beach if you want to have a look and wander round the cafes and amusements. Its the first lane to the right off the beach walking away from the main promenade. Probably a couple of miles walk there in total - and the beach is the quickest way back walking as it leaves you about 3 miles out from Filey town by road/ footpath. My round trip from Filey Brigg/beach/Primrose/pavement back was just under 6 miles going there by beach and back by footpath.

I have always liked Sea Farm at Flamborough....maybe a bit out of the way from Scarborough but is a lovely site....also Flower of May at Filey is very good.  Avoid Blue Dolphin though.....not the best site at all!!!
