Help!
I've done quite a few searches already but haven't found the information I'm looking for.
I was hoping to find a site somewhere in Yorkshire (or surrounding counties) that is nice and peaceful. We have a couple of dogs so ideally would like a site with a good dog walk.
The main features we'd like would be:
On or very close to a river or woods where we can let the dogs run off lead.
Picturesque surroundings.
Great walks nearby.
We will be in a tent, would need showers/toilets but not EHU.
Thanks muchly.

Knight Stainforth would be good. Next to river and waterfall. Big, enclosed dog field for exercise off-lead, good walks down to Settle or upriver. 10 mins from dog-friendly pub with not dear food and good beer. Me & my two spaniels thought it was champion.
The C&CC site at Slingsby is a nice site and you can walk the dog of the lead opposite the entrance along what was the railway line. I'm not sure about walks locally though.

Serenity in Hinderwell, 8 miles north of Whitby, would tick most of your boxes. It's mainly an adult site but they do accept a few children so if you have any it shouldn't be a problem. A very peaceful site with spotlessly clean loos and showers, and lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The dog walk along the lane is just through the gate from the camping field and you can let your dogs off lead along there - if you walk right to either end of the lane it brings you back towards the village so you can literally do a full circuit. There's also a nice pub which does good meals right across the road from the site entrance.

I agree with Knights at Stainforth, or try Howgill Lodge near Bolton Abbey. Lovely site with excellent facilities and there's a great walk along the river to Appletreewick with 2 pubs - the New Inn is very dog friendly.

Knight Stainforth from me too - our favourite site hence two visits this year!
If you're planning on going in busy periods I'd recommend booking as soon as you know the dates - it's very popular.

Hi there Dawgs,If you're still looking for a site in Yorkshire, that is quiet and dog friendly,Have a look at High Yedmandale Farm.We stayed there last Sept, with our dog.we found it to be good value and very tanquil indeed.Have a look in site reviews, and you will find it in the campsite search facility.I have put a review on here for this site, but read it carefully.

Marfit Head Farm near Pickering. Its at the top of The Hole of Horcum so you can walk for miles and miles around there with the dogs or you can wlak the other direction into Dalby Forest where you can walk all week and still wouldn't get round it all!!!!! The site itself is lovely as well....very clean and tidy and surprisingly quiet to say it is next to the main road!
