Loads of campsites and parks we used in Canada had central fire pit areas.

Like a wooden gazebo with a roof, but open sides with seating for about 20 and a raised central firepit that also could be used for a bbq.

I don't care for the "open plan" style sites. I prefer the ones with hedges and fences (i.e Tregarton, Cornwall). I think it also helps with keeping noise down. To me, it doesn't echo so much.

Tents and caravans mixed, or it looks like... us and them. Besides pitching between two caravans means you can get extra shelter

As a camper for 29 years and a caravanner for 1....PLEASE put the facilities closer to the tenters too, it seems so unfair.

don't put baby changing in the disabled bathroom. also have the disabled toilet seperate from the family bathroom.

My mum needs a disabled toilet and it's so annoying having to wait 2 hours until all the families have finished bathing before she can go to the toilet

Oh I just thought of another novel idea (great pitch selling feature)

How about having little sheds on some tent pitches so you can store some stuff while out for the day as an extra safety feature. Campers bring their own combination lock or sell you them in your shop. Rental of shed is included in pitch price

Hardstanding serviced pitches. We caravan all year and do not like treading wet mud, grass etc into van when touring off season.

Adults only section / Dog friendly section

Warm, spacious shower / toilet block with plenty of showers for site capacity and each shower cubicle with plenty of hooks/shelving/fixed seating area(hate those moveable plastic stools). Hair dryer facility(do not mind paying) or sockets so that I can use my own.

If entry barrier, easy swipe card or remote key access rather than push button(they are a bu**er to operate if you need specs or false nails!!

Shop for essentials(including wine etc) and a takeaway facility would be really handy

Any grassy areas cut using a mower that picks up the grass.

Not a tenter myself, but have been on sites where there has been kettle & microwaves, plus tumble drier if clothes are washes or get soaked.  I don't mind paying 50p for my dog but would expect there to be dog bins (have even been on sites where they provide poo bags).  I don't like paying extra for my awning, I think the pitch fee should cover this.  However, I do tend to book sites which charge per person or 2 people to a unit, after all the more people in the unit, the more facilities/electric/water they use.  I think it is fair to pay extra if there are more than 2 in my party but don't want to be ripped off by being charged as much as £5 per night extra.  An information/notice board/book swapping area would be good.  Have also been on sites with picnic benches which I thought was a nice touch.  Above all, friendly wardens who enforce sensible rules.
