Please can anyone recommend good sites that are right by the beach.Preferably in the south west and south wales. For many years we have stayed at Pentewan sands in cornwall and have been spoilt. This year we tried East Fleet Farm in Dorset and although it was by the lagoon it wasn't the same.We now find that nothing can beat Pentewan for being right on the beach....Or can it? LOL let me know!!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Take a look at Porth Beach Touring Park (Newquay). It sits right opposite a beautiful safe, sandy beach (5 min walk from the site). Great pub (The Mermaid) also sits on the beach.

No EHU is the ONLY downside, and I recommend reading the reviews and googling it for pics too!
we have loved Pentewan for many years, with last year being the best trip yet as we were lucky enough, at last, to have a fantasic pitch on the front row but now feel its not as brilliant because they have moved the pool INSIDE.......why????!!
------------- Just LOVE the great outdoors!

We to love pentewan sands and my children now expect to have a beach on the park,
This year we went to ladram bay,Devon, which was excellent the beach is pebbles but mine didnt mind as they surf etc, you can hire kayaks, which they advertise at pentewan but didnt hire, rowing boats or motor boats
Also St ives bay is on the beach and Beachside, Hayle is lovely but less facilites than the others. Both cornwall
I can highly recommend Pentewan Sands just outside St Austell and round the corner from Mevagissey. The site is absolutely beautifull and clean and very friendly staff. In 2010 the site opened its doors to a brand new leisure facility which includes a fun pool, up and down pool, kiddies play zone, gym, terrace and bar (where they also serve some really delicious meals!)
The site is flat and if you are lucky enough to be able to pitch on the front row you can step straight onto the beach.
My first time there was in 2009, then twice last year and have already booked again in June this year. The beach is very spacious and clean complete with a small childrens play park at one end.
The village of Pentewan is really cute and boasts a pub (complete with good food), gift shop, cafe, couple of surf shops and restaurant.
I do hope this will help you with a choice of site - they also have a website.
