Any recommendations for cheap CLs or CSs which are nice but just don't happen to have ehu? Anywhere really except the east coast (sorry to those who live there).

Many CS's (don't know about CL's) will have EHU for their 5 van pitches even if they don't have it for their tent campers. Our two favourites don't have any EHU though.
I've just read your other thread about needing electric and I wonder why you're trying to find non EHU sites if you need electricity?
Are you thinking that they'll be nicer and quieter (applying the EHU/non EHU pitch logic?)
I know not all CLs/CSs are listed on Camp Site Search, but I've just tried selecting CL/CS with EHU and without ticking the EHU box, in one of my favourite areas, as an experiment. It does appear to work, Church Farm, being absent from the EHU selection, and which did not have EHU the last time I was there. In fact the only facility on site was a spring water tap, the CDP being situated across the road outside the farmhouse. Nice location between picturesque Corfe Castle and the "abandonded village" of Tyneham.
Thanks. To clarify (I hope), we need to run a 12v TV. Church Farm sounds nice. The main reason for wanting to try non ehu is to save money as we are retired and go away for weeks at a time. We already nearly always use CSs/CLs.

CS's are certainly cheaper, we pay £5 at one site and £8 at another one, neither have any facilities at all on them - bliss!
Have you found that on the C&CC site you can see the location of sites on Google Earth? I find it really helpful for looking for sources of noise etc. on CS's? The old "basic" search option on their site is (I think) a bit easier to use than the new version.
I think I said on the other thread, our 12v TV ran for 13 hours until we got bored of the test and that was on our old 870 amp battery. We managed to keep our battery topped up from a little TV use and charging phones etc. with a 12v Maplins solar panel. I think you mentioned you have a solar panel?
Thanks, we don't need other facilities, but do need good access for our big van and hopefully a level site. Don't need absolute quiet, but don't want to be smack bang on a main road either. We have found a good few CLs and CSs for £8 with ehu. I have booked 2 more of these for our next trip.

hi mrs bonce re the cs at church knowle the site yes is nice we had a look a couple of months ago while on holiday one problem is the access if coming from corfe castle which i belive is the only way when towing is so tight if you have a large outfit as we do theres no way you would get in plus the lanes are so narrow theres nowhere to turn around.nice site otherwise hoe this helps x
I presume you've used the search facilities on both the Caravan Club and Caravan and Camping Club web sites. They are both excellent and show all the CL/Cs's in a given location.

I prefer the old version of the c&cc searches as well, the the new one is just a pain and wont find towns which i know are there, .and it keeps making me wait and doing a new search, i have used the cc sites more now as they are a lot better so we are using the cc membership more as well
