Hi

We have come across this site for a possible camping trip in May. Does anyone have any experience of this site? We would like to know if it would be suitable for a 5yr old and 3yr old (we are just back from a holiday park and my kids loved the entertainment) and how much we are likely to pay for 1 week? The 2011 prices arnt up on the website yet.

Its either here or haven.

Thank you

We don't have children but stayed here a few years ago (in July 2006).

It's got it's own private beach so perfect for little (and big) ones if the weather's nice. Some of the pitches are practically on the beach but you do pay a premium for these. We had a pitch on Row B and it was great- a good size, a sea view and just a 3 min stroll onto the beach.

When we went the pool was an outdoor pool but I hear it's now indoor - presumably to make it an all weather facility.

I don't know what the entertainment's like but I'm sure someone will be able to help and advise on this.

i have just got back from pentewan sands and i can say its the worse holiday that i have been on. i have 2 children  (13 + 10) and if the weather is nice then it is a wonderful place to go you could not be closer to the beach but when the weather is not so good then you are in trouble its i the middle of nowhere so you have to drive to get anywhere there is nothing on site for the kids to do. the club house is too small and if you are not in there by 5 o'clock you will not get a seat all night. the 2 indoor pools are too small and at busy times you actually have to que up to go swimming there are no amusements even though the website tells you there are and the caravans are very tightly packed in. i would never go back there and i would never recomend it to anybody i know. hope this helps

In the middle of nowhere?!  It's only 3(ish) miles from St Austell!  Things to do nearby:

Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan, the old fishing villages of Mevagissey and Fowey, Gorran Haven, Lanhydrock House, Flambards and Crealy adventure parks, four 18 hole golf courses within ten miles, cycle hire on site for the Pentewan cycle trail and the nearby harbour and village of Pentewan.

Cornwall is rural, country/beach destination.  As with any UK holiday if you have bad weather you have to seek activities if the weather is poor.
