Hi, we're looking for a campsite for ourselves and three children. We would like something with an indoor pool, ideally water slides with the emphasis being on fun and entertainment in, possibly inclement weather. As always, I'll trust your judgement.:)
------------- Loving it, loving it, loving it!
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
this group of 4 parks based around Woolacombe, North Devon might fit the bill. Each park has indoor pool, there is a bus that will take you from park to park and to the town/beach. Each of the parks has some thing different ie 1 has a bowling alley and another a golf course. There is kids entertainment and adults. not sure which are open in October but we have been to 2 of the parks that were open then,.
We went to Twitchen Park last Oct half term, one of the Woolacombe 4 that Ang/Ken suggested. Its a lovely site with a small pool but no slides, great eve entertainment and huge clean toilet block. The pitches in the older fields are small but flat because they are terraced, whilst the new all weather pitches arent and therefore very unlevel, which and caused us and others a great deal of stress. The main problem with the site is the wind, it was just too much for our awning and the skirt ripped off and ripped the canvas. We are also from the Forest of Dean and found the journey alittle tiresome as there is a long stretch to go once you come of the M5.
One of our "more" local favourites is Hoburne Cotswold, it has an inside pool, slide and the usual campsite evening enterntainment. Not sure that there would be much to do in the area though, especially in Oct!

Thanks, I'll have a trawl for the one at Ripon. That sounds about the right sort of distance.
Holgates is great - maybe a little close to home as we go swimming there on Sundays!
