If you are heading as far down as Cornwall, River Valley Park at London Apprentice (nr St Austell) is lovely. Has indoor pool, spotless loos (as Wareham forest does) and a cycle trail runs past the site from St Austell to Pentewan, the route is 2.5 miles of off road pathway that follows the river to the sea. You can branch off into the woods from the cycle trail if you want extra paths.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Thanks everyone, I have had a look at the recommended sites.
River Valley sounded great until I got to the 6th review from someone who had been in June 10 - sounds like they had an even worse mossi problem than we did at wareham!
Any more recommendations would be gratefully received!

We went in September, no mozzies and stunning weather. I always think Cornwall is best in September, we've gone there for years and always had good weather throughout September.
hi carol we were on a rally at wareham rugby club 2nd week in june we too had the problem with the bugs and we were prob 2 miles from you.dont know what these things were but come about 8 oclock we had to close all the windows in the caravan and stay indoors for the evening theese things were huge and came from knowhere every evening then disapeered as soon as it went dark x
That sounds familiar! I thought we were badly hit due to stagnant ditch water.....obviously just an issue in the area rather than the site. We are going later in June this year - I may have to hope that the bug season is short!
Still grateful for any suggestions for great campsites in the UK though - we are flexible as to where we go.
