trying to talk the wife into seeing the new year in under the canvas but she thinks im barking mad - can anybody confirm my sanity and recommend any good sites to visit for new years?

When we were at Rivendale in derbyshire a few years back theer were some fools ahem sorry lol people camping, there were snowy, blizzard winds and they were trying to hang on the their tent. They wouldn't accept any help and they fled to teir car.

I don't really blame your wife not wanting to go, if I were you and you want to stay married go for a B&B. lol

I have camped at The National Trust campsite in Langdale for the last 3 years and had a great time.  There is good entertainment on at the Stickle tarn Tavern a short walk away and the Lakes looks spectacular under a layer of hoare frost!

So long as you have the right equipment its a great experience camping at -5!!

Wouldn't miss new year camping..................just we use a caravan not a tent.

 i went away new about 4 or 5 years ago to pickering north yorkshire in a caravan thow & can truly say it was the best new year ive ever had
