For 3 years now we have stayed at Waterfront County Park for bonfire night.  The first year was excellent, great fire, guy, display, food etc.  We enjoyed it so much we tried to get in the following year but left it too late.  We went again last year and enjoyed it and so booked immediately for this year but what a disappointment it turned out to be.  The firework display was poor and the food/drink was "slimmed down" from previous years, plus the electricity tripped out many times.  The whole site was without supply for quite a while on Saturday morning, we were in darkness for about 90 minutes Saturday evening and whilst we were lucky and had our section re-connected, our friend (a female on her own, without battery because it had been stolen from a previous site) was without power for what seemed like an eternity, only for it to trip again Sunday morning.  The whole weekend was a big disappointment.

If anybody had an excellent experience, could you let me know which site you stayed on (Yorkshire/Derbyshire/Nottingham areas) so we can think of booking early for next year.  Thanks, Denise.

Woodland Waters at Ancaster was really good - there was a barbeque with reasonably priced food, music outside the bar/restaurant, and the firework display was fab.  We will definately be booking for next year !

a little bit further and there's Rawcliffe hall,great eccleston up past blackpool, they have an organised display and one hell of a fire, they have the area cordened off in one of the big fields,plenty of marshals and even music to go along with the fireworks though i haven't a clue how they get them both to match each other!!

they open up the old barns to serve food in there and the clubhouse's brilliant with one of the northwests best kids entertainer, who's hilariouse and knows every kids names on first meeting them and all the way thro his show , then after its for adults but we allways go back to the van but hear its very good.

you can pitch your van on one of the unoccupied static areas or up on a well drained grass verge that was busy with visiting caravans this year, though the site is mainly aimed at the more mature client, there are plenty of visiting children who are made to feel entirely welcome but they have a few rules to keep them under controll and these rules are stuck to. we are in our 30's and go to stay with mum in here static and its a lovely quiet site that allows dogs and even cats and has the village of gt eccleston very near with a lovely bakery,butchers,spar,PO and a doctors you are allowed to go to if you 'live' there.

As you can see, i love this site a lot!!
