We are planning to take our two grandchildren aged 6 and 4 away in our 'van next early June. We'd like a site that was fully-serviced, but had a good play area and within a couple of hours towing from Uckfield, East Sussex and ideally in an area with children's things to go and see or do. Is this too tall an order? Suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Have you tried this http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/calcdist.asp Use the refine list on the left, click on the area you wish to visit, at bottom of the page how many miles5, 10, 20 then update. And it will show the sites in that area.
Try tanner farm, my kids 11, 9 and 5 loved it,, they did not want to leave the site for sight seeing. Only left the site for one day to go down the coast to hastings which is not to far.
Not sure about the pitches being fully serviced but they got ehu, water and are big pitches.
Tanner Farm I hear is good, we also like Cobbs Hill Farm at Bexhill, they have ehu pitches, but you do have to go and fill the aqua roll from a water point and empty your waste at the waste point. Has toilets and showers if needed. It has a few animals that the children can go and see, I think there was goats, shetland ponies, pigs, rabbits, g.pigs, & chickens. It also has a lovely play area.
