Hi , the review on this site for 2010 is from August and the site shut in October, so very recent as only two months old

i live down the road..daughter went about 6weeks ago.. friend lives there...

nothing will have changed since the last review apart from aging.. they have not spent much (if any) money on the site for a few years now

its ok if you are interested in the entertainment, but dont expect a brilliant site

its park resorts (as you probably know) and not reknowned for fantastic facilities!

it is in the middle of nowhere... bus only goes past (well end of road about half mile away) once a day!

as with a lot of places , the recession has hit

if you are using it for a base... as long as you have own car, can work out quite cheap with the special offers.. but is there not anywhere else you could stay instead??

Really, if you are going to the Isle of Wight, there are so many better places to stay than Thorness Bay. The camping field is at the bottom of the hill, EHU on one side of the road (flatish) non EHU on the other side (very sloped). When you drive through the campsite (which people do to get to the beach) it doesn't look as if anyone cares for the site at all.

The beach is ok if you like collecting shells and walking a dog but I wouldn't want to swim there!

Can't say anything about the entertainment etc as I haven't used the site as a camper for 10 years, but I do drive through it a lot.

Best advice - have a look at the other sites on the Island instead.
