we loved going to pillaton and were already looking forward to going next year as its our favourite campsite.after finding pillaton a few years ago we stopped looking at other places as it was  perfect for us.hubby loved fishing, kids loved the park  and meeting new friends and i loved  the  fact it was a  nice  family site.slowly  over time we noticed a few idiots arriving but they were soon dealt with by dave and co.the improvements at the site were  great but it was awful to see  the vandalism a few morons had done to them,i fully understand daves decision as after all  family and your health are worth more than making a few quid but us respectful decent campers will really miss  pillaton and the Pearce family .we will also miss meeting up with our friends who we met through pillaton(all of them decent  people too).gutted but wish  the Pearce family all the best for the future  and thankyou for being such a nice family.the wheat family x

Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!

Im so sad to learn that Pillaton has closed.

I really enjoyed our 2010 Meet and made some good friends.

I do hope that we can find an alternative venue for our 2011 Meet. I only live 10 minutes from Pillaton, so was an ideal site to visit.

I cant wait until Springtime, when I start planning my 2011 Camping Tours.

Please stay in touch.

I had a lovely time at the end of July, and thought it was one of the best sites I've been on. While I was there the Wifi connection in the male loo's went missing (vandalised) but apart from that I saw no drunken behaviour or any night time noise. I can fully understand David's decision, but Dave if you were ever to reinstate the facility to UKCS members with a post count over, say 100, you'd be getting the people who truly love camping and not the weekend boozers.

As I live in Northern Ireland I have been going around suggesting some of the great things I liked about Pillaton to Northern Irish sites, such as the marked out boxes which ensures a proper fire break between tents, and raving about the way that a tap is never any more than a few metres away from any spot. As a site it was one that could show all the other sites how to do things.

Pillaton will be greatly missed.
