Help, we are hoping to go to Cornwall for 10 days in the summer holidays and have a huge problem - the size of my tent. Does anyone know of any campsites that can cope with oversized tents - actualy sqm is 7.2 x 8.3 - now I know why it was cheap on ebay!!!!!

Five of the six Camping and Caravanning Club's sites in Cornwall offer "Jumbo Pitches" (at extra cost).
If you decide to use (any) C&C Club Site for a week or more, joining the Club, if you're not already a member, should bring the total cost down slightly.

Hi, Little Trevarrack at Carbis Bay have very large pitches at no extra cost. I manage to get my Hartford xl + canopy with a boat/trailer on one side and the car on the other side of the tent with no probs. Its a great site too but a little pricey. Worth it in my opinion as it keeps the lager lout / yobo types away and so maintains its peaceful, lovely family site feeling.
Hey if you have full hygiene and you are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club, I know of a superb site at Bodmin. You must have full hygiene facilities butit is a great site nicely located and very very quiet. They take kids and dogs plenty of room and big tents are not frowned upon. Bill and Leslie also do eggs and have very tame farm animals (Sam the Werther is a case in point - a neutered ram that behaves like a Labrador).
This site has superb views over the Camel Valley, has a steam railway that can be occasionally hear at the back and is like camping in the Alps but staying in Britain!
------------- Just remember, if it is older than yours, smaller than yours but next to yours, there is probably no credit owing on it...

You should check with Carlyon Bay which is near St. Austell. Their pitches looked quite big, they could tell you if you give them a ring. The owners are very helpful.
we used to have a vango diablo 900,which is an 'oversize' tent,we stayed at Tollgate Farm in Perranporth, and we had plenty of room on the pitch we had.they do have smaller pitches as well,so make sure you tell them you have a bigger tent.Or you could try the likes of Haven sites, there are always big tents on them.
