ive booked a whitsun holiday at haven burham on sea for me and my boyfriend, he has 2 children and i have 2 children, we have looked at booking haven holidays before but always found it too expensive for us. ( we do not live together) we upgraded and we are going halves on the cost. by doing it via the sun hols for about £220 which I this is not too bad for us. though we were limited on where to go.

I love the SUN £9.50 / £15 holidays!

we have done 2 -3 a year since 2006,just wish I had discovered them sooner!

we can only go during school holidays so always make a good saving!

we have been to Butlins quite a few times and various other UK sites

but our best bargains are when we go to France

we usually go to La Croix Du Vieux Pont or Le Chene Gris,to do Disney

but this time we have booked a site in Brittany Mon - Fri of May half term

all in,inc ferry should be £870 !!!! but we are paying £290

much more in my price range lol

For those of you who have had bad accomodation, did you complain?!!

I would not accept dirty accom!

some of the places we have stayed in have been a bit dated, but never unclean!

I always take anti bac and bleach etc anyway though lol

and we bring our own bedding too ( also cuts out the hire costs!)

ALWAYS look for site reviews BEFORE booking

ALWAYS check to see how much it would be to book direct with the site BEFORE booking with the SUN

The amount of people who moan they could have gotten it cheaper ( which often you can in term time) or moan that the site they have booked has bad reviews etc

Do your homework first!!!

Rachie B

I recognize you from MSE!!!!!!! we chatted briefly on the code cracking thread?

I can never get Butlins as they only accept booking for families of four or less. We're also tied to to school holidays BUT I've booked  La Croix Du Vieux Pont  for May half term, but booked via Venue. Only cost £164 for 6 of us, would've cost more via the Sun!!! Costs more via them too now. Managed to get the ferry for £54 (but i did book it back in Sept) I was too scared to wait for the sun hols in case I didn't get a priority code annd even if I got one there was a poss I'd not get the park I wanted.

Must admit the two sites I've booked this yr haven't got good reviews BUT then neither do some of the sites I've been to in the past and we've found them ok. Maybe my standards aren't so high? don't truly know???I wouldn't accept dirty vans.

I was limited for my hols as OH isn't coming and I don't drive. So needed sites I could get too easy that didn't break the bank. Really limited my choices!!

depends on the site, but it's either a van, chalet or appartment. ON some of the french sites, I 'think' they have pre erected tents

I'd never heard of them till last August. we stayed at Les Mouettes in Brittany ( we also stayed there the previous May). And being very mse I checked out all the competiors prices LOL well those that offered ready erected tents anyway ( which is the cheapest accom)

Keycamp and Eurocamp same company yet Keycamp is always cheaper????

Vacansoleil french company, canvas & Venue.

Did my reseach when came home couldn;t get what I wanted ( wanted Durinell) So browsed and sent a webquote to Venue. Was so shocked when they sent back the price I booked there and then. Like I said was too scared to wait for Sun hols just incase.

My kids are now 18, 15, 15 & 12. But DD18 won't come away with us this yr. Other three are boys.

Lots of people ahve said the site is good so fingers crossed for some decent weather.
