Hi guys, sorry if this is in the wrong section, wasnt sure of where to put it.

 I am carrying out a university project where I have to set up my own caravan and camping site and my own coarse fishing lake.  I am having real trouble in finding certain bits of information, such as how many touring caravans a can put in a 30 acre field, how many hook up points I can put in this field and how much hard standing will cost?

I wondered if any of you could help me out and point me ion the right direction of some websites of something?

How many you can fit on a 30 acre site will depend on how big you intend to make the pitches and how much space you intend to have around the site.
Are you going to have camping pitches for tents?
How many hard standing pitches? Some people prefer to use a grass pitch.

Again the number of EHU points is a personal choice - will every pitch have access to EHU or just some? 1 bollard per pitch or shared between 4 pitches? Remember that not everyone will necessarily require hook up.
Will any tent pitches you have be able to access EHU (many campers like this)

I have no idea how much EHU and hard standing would cost but there are several site owners that use this forum so they will be able to help - I know Jasmine_Park are currently having some new pitches and a children's play area installed at their site.

Give your local council a call for local regulations.   Then either Camping and Caravan club or Caravan Club.  As both run sites of their own they should be able to tell you rough estimates on requirements and costings.   

After that, then here is a game that you can play and while keeping a straight face, you can claim it's part of your course work.

I was planning on caravans around the edge of the fields and then tents in the middle.  How many hard standing pitches depends on how many pitches I have over all (I know thats not much help). 
I didn't realise that I could have one bollard for four pitches. I cant find any info on them.  I also didnt realise that tents can have an EHU, this is something I shall consider.

900 does sound like far too many!!! Its ment to be a very basic campsite, just somewhere to stay the night really with showers/toilets and a play area.  Yup, all caravans around the edge and there will be be woodland seperating the campers from the lake.

http://www.cpes.co.uk/ this is a link to just one of the many companies that offer electric bollards for campsite.  If you contact them they may have information leaflets that could help with your project.

The cost depends on type and how many hookups - i understand you can go to approx 8 maximum but thats not really ideal as people have to have extra long leads unless the bollard is in the middle of 8 pitches. Ideally twin hookup points are best, some are just electric but you can have some with tv points & water points as well.  Tents - more and more tents have electric these days far more than dont but the problem is then the size of the tents and to ensure the correct fire regulations are adhered to.
