I'm a member of both and each has its advantages. From the small sites I have visited it seems like the Camping and caravanning CS sites more often have showers and toilets than the Caravan Club CL sites. I have also found it easier to get bookings on the main CCC sites but the CC sites do not require a deposit. For the extra cost of belonging to both clubs I find it worthwhile if only to give me more choice especially in the winter months and peak seasons. From a personal point of view I tend to feel more relaxed on most CCC sites but that may just be the way my head works.

Caravan Club (CC) has about 220 of it's own sites with about half open to members only and over 2500Cl's ( small 5 five van independant sites of variable standard licensed by the club for members only ) , the standard of it's sites is consistently high over the whole network, it provides every service that a caravanner could need and all the services are comparable with the best of service that you can find anywhere. When you arrive at a club site you book in and pay your fees, no deposits are taken so the whole fee is paid at this time, you are then given information about the site and are told to go go and have a look at the pitches available ( all empty pitches are available ) choose one, set up and then let the wardens know where you have gone. Should you decide for whtever reason that you need to leave before the date that you  have paid till, you can inform the wardens that you are leaving and will receive a refund of all fees for the days that you have paid for but will not be staying for.

Camping and Caravanning Club (CCC) has about 110 sites of it's own a handful  (6 at the last count )  of which are members only  and a network of about 1000 CS's ( like CL's ), the standard of the sites over the whole network is of a more variable standard with the best sites comparing favourably with the CC sites. It also provides a full range of high quality services for the caravanner that are just as good as those provided by the CC. When you arrive at a club site you book in and pay the remainder of your fees ( a deposit will be taken when you book which  if you cancel more than 7 days in advance you get   back, within 7 days you lose  ), the warden will decide where you are to pitch and will escort you to it and ensure that you have pitched precisely as he requires. Should you need to leave for any reason the fees that you have paid will be forfeit ( though in some circumstances by special request to head office giving circumstances and doctors notes be placed on account for you to use in the rest of the year )

I have been a member of the CC for 18 years and have never regretted it, I have been a member of the CCC on two occasion in the last four years and have on both occasions resigned it just did not suit me. I know of a lot of people who like and use the CCC so I would suggest that it is worthwhile joining both clubs and seeing which one suits your purpose best

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Been a member of the CC for many years and they are great. Tried the CC&C a couple of years ago and not impressed so resigned. The CC seem to be more professional about everything they do, and can re-iterate you know what you are getting when you arrive on any of their sites, whereas we found the CC&C sites a little more 'down market'. I do believe that the CC&C is probably better suited to families though, CC seem to be more couples on their sites

If you can afford it join both and see what suits your requirements best.

Were in both but prefer the C.C over the C&CC because the quality and lay out of there site's tends to be better with more modern toilet blocks and there more professionally run .
Some of the C&CC site's we have been on recently have had run down facility's which badly needed revamped and when were paying good money we expect quality and not worn out showers and toilet's .

We used to be members of both but gave up our membership to the c&cc because whenever we booked onto a 5 pitch site there where always at least double.

All the caravan club sites are a similar standard and we have never had a problem with them or the smaller CL sites.

Bearing in mind that not all small sites have toilets or hookup, if you have a particular area in mind why not try an Advanced Map Search for Club CL/CS?
(Caravan Club Certificated Locations or Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Sites).

I was going to suggest that you visit the stands of both clubs at next week's Manchester show, but it seems only one of them will be in attendance!

I'm a member of both Clubs and have been for several years.

I like the fact I have access to hundreds of CL and CS sites, THS, meets and rallies almost every weekend as well as the main Club sites which are always of an excellent standard. The family deals work out well for me too.

Whether to join or not is a personal choice - some people love it and find it excellent vaule for money and others find it expensive and not worth it.

We are members of both that way we get to use all of the CLs of the CC and all of the CSs of the CCC.
