Hi there, this is my first post on the forums! I'm looking for some advice.

We (parter and myself) want to go for a quick weekend away this weekend.

We're in Manchester, and I don't mind driving an hour or so. I've searched through the campsites but would like some recommendations of good quality sites that can provide electric, and preferably not to expensive.

Regards

Steve

Mental Home maybe. Na just kidding. Try somewhere in the lakes or peak district. Can't recommend any only been to one in the dales last year. And not one I would recommend. Sure someone else will point you in the direction of one

I think a mental home would fit the bill with the weather were having!!

Myself and a few others went to the NT great langdale site in early January and walked stickle tarn/Pavey ark, in the snow, I'm confirmed mental

This time it'll just be the Missus and me so need somewhere a bit more forgiving and homely.

Try The waterloo Inn at Taddington, Buxton   its a c at cc cs site and its behind a pub They  have rooms if it gets too cold for you. I think its £10 a night for tent and has EHU  really nice shower and toilets.  The walking is good too,  Monsal trail close by,  The pub has a big open fire, they do food and chocolate muffins and coffee, also serve breakfast every morning.

Hope you have a good weekend and the weather stays nice for you.

Rivendale between Buxton and Ashbourne...top site, but beware, we'll be there too!

I love the sound of this but unfortunatly were not members of the CCC. The £47 joining fee is a bit too much at the moment on top of everything else we'll need for the weekend.

Do they ever have membership offers etc?

You can stay on the site if you are not members, you just pay an extra charge of a few quid and then they give you a form to join ccc if you want to. but you dont have to.  Also this site is on the Limestone way which is another good walk.

Just had a quote from Rivendale for next week,  £19.50 per night for 1 person and a small dog. This may be a nice site but at this price in Feb I think they are having a laugh.
