Having never been camping in Weymouth I was wondering if anybody has any recomendations. We're not really bothered about having a club on site or play ground etc. Just a lovely view and clean shower block will do for us.
I have looked at Osmington Mills corner campsite but am worried about the toilet block being a bit dirty as we're going for the week. Anybody stayed there before?
Thanks to aanybody who replies
Sarah
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
Some years ago we've used both Osmington Mills Corner and the site now known as Rosewall, which, as well as having a longer opening season, had much better facilities - modern clean shower block and well maintained (undefined) pitches. Check recent reviews.
As well as the sites shown on Ratty's link, there's also a Certificated Site at Chickerell (only available to Camping and Caravanning Club members).
We really like East Fleet at Chickerell which is about 3 miles from Weymouth although we've not been there for a couple of years - so many places to visit!!!
The washblocks are exceptionally clean and well maintained IMO and great views across the Fleet Lagoon
No clubhouse but they do have their own pub serving bar meals
East Fleet, West Fleet, and Bagwell...all in more or less the same location and very clean and well maintained. I think they might all be owned by the same people. All slightly different...East Fleet is quite large and commercial, West Fleet is tents and campervans only, and Bagwell is more scenic. There is another one in the same location which I have not been to but sounds just as good. I can recommend them all but personally prefer West Fleet then Bagwell.

Hi Bob, Any chance you can leave a review for Moor Farm please for all to read please
I'd Recommend East Fleet?
Being less than a mile away lol.
Can't see what is commercial about it? Just great facillities and very large accessories shop/barn.
I think you'll find the 3 sites mentioned are all owned seperate.
Just check out the reviews and their web site.
Like Alan61 we live in Weymouth - a little further away from East Fleet than he does. We even spend weekends there if we want to be away from home but not too far that the kids can't do their weekend things with their friends.
I can thorough recommend East Fleet as a lovely campsite to stay in. Spotless facilities. Nice park for children. Onsite pub. Onsite camping supplies shop. Very friendly, helpful owners. The sunset over The Fleet as viewed from the site is fantastic and for us it's a real home away from home.

Yes I stand corrected...'commercial' was perhaps the wrong word as it certainly isn't a 'Haven' type site. I have always found it quite 'busy' whereas the other sites mentioned seem more quiet. Personal opinion of course.
Thanks soooo much for all your comments, thats really helped. I know reviews are great but sometimes its nice to get a recomendation, especially from you guys who seem to have been a few times!!
Looking forward to it already, cant wait for summer. Its gonna be bagwell for us I think.
You won't be disappointed with Bagwell. Lovely site, lovely views (sunset over the Fleet), lovely walks. Has it's own bar and restaurant and shop and the bus into Weymouth picks up on site during the high season or bus stop just outside the site. Usually a car boot sale in a field near the entrance on Saturday morning as well...what more could you want
