Not far away from Fisherground. My kids would say Fisherground (real fires, adventure playground & water to play in) but the toilet facilities are far superior at Boot! This area of the Lakes is far quieter for walking than over in Ambleside or Windermere.
Both sites are near good walks, river, pubs serving good food & the Eskdale railway (steam trains)
The campsite at Boot, Eskdale (C&CC) is my definate favourite in the lakes. The views are stunning, great walks directly from the site, 3 pubs within walking distance serving great food, Eskdale - Ravenglass railway less than 10 minutes walk away, about 40 minutes drive you have the lovely beach at St Bees,. I loved this site. A great family campsite (as long as the family don't require bars/discos/swimming pool on site).
