We are planning going for a week with caravan w/c 8 March and are looking for a caravan site open that early that has access onto or very near a cycle track, flat, disused railway type of track (not mountain biking) Not Peak District as we have done that one, does anyone have any ideas, we have looked at Wales as there are plenty of tracks but no caravan sites open or near enough.
Thanks. J x

Hi, you could look at sites along canals as many of these are flat and easy going. We have stayed at Netherwood near chester and have decided that next time we go we will take our bikes. It has direct access onto the canal towpath, a few pubs along the way, take in the sites of Chester and follow the paths further along, if you wish.
Byerside Campsite near the Derwent Walk in Co Durham\Tyne & Wear.
Lovely (basic) site with a restored disused railway running alongside - you literally go out of a gate and you're on the cycleway.
Beamish\Newcastle\Durham etc all within easy reach.

Why go so far? How about Robin Hoods Bay? On the spectacular Whitby to Scarborough cycleway. Some climbs but it is still an old railway so not too arduous.
Thanks for your suggestions, have done the Whitby Robin Hoods bay last summer and loved it but want to go a bit further away as this is on our doorstep. The one in Co Durham sounds interesting so will have a loook at that. I fancy going down to Bath but OH just ignoring me when I mention that one, I think it has something to do with the price of diesel. Hoping for some blue skies and a little bit of sunshine then could go anywhere. Thanks again x J xx
Wirral Country Park Caravan Club Site is next to the Wirral Way (a disused railway track). Nice sea views from the site with plenty to do (you can cycle to catch the train into Liverpool)
