Hi we are looking for a small, quiet site not too far from Blackpool to recuperate from a bike rally for a couple of nights, before moving onto Ingleton. I have narrowed it down to two C&CC certificated sites, neither of which I can find on the search here, but I was hoping that someone may have some knowledge of them or the area?!! (or can recommend somewhere else?)
The first is Fell view Park, Sykes Farm, Scorton and the other is Sandacre at Cockerham Sands. Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks

Does it have to be a CS? If not I can highly a recommend a lovely private site in the village of St. Michael's near Garstang, and a bit closer to Blackpool than either Scorton or Cockerham. Wyreside Farm Park is a lovely small site, only ten pitches all with ehu if you need it, and peace and quiet by the bucketful. Or if you're a CC member then Turnover Hall Farm CL, also in St. Michael's, in a nice quite place.

Thanks for that Tigermouse. No, it doesn't have to be a CS - I was just trying to keep costs down as we like to get away as much as we can during the year (greedy we are) and we are not CC members. Wyreside looks lovely and I have saved it into my virtual brochure for future reference, as we seem to spend a lot of our time in that neck of the woods!
I am off work sick today with a sore throat and cold, so enjoying reading your blog too! x
Glad you're enjoying my blog, I've not really managed to write anything proper since my last camping trip so I sometimes wonder if anyone bothers to read it! I can't wait to get away again so I can add some more to it.
Wyreside Farm Park really is lovely - the perfect chill-out site, and Penny the owner is really friendly and helpful. And if you want a pub there's a footpath from the site straight to The Grapes on the main road, just take a torch for when you stagger back to your pitch! lol

If you do decide to go sometime and you have any spare egg boxes - the half dozen ones - could you take them with you? Penny sells fresh eggs from the free range hens and she's always needing egg boxes.
Btw, when were you thinking of going?

I see that's mid-week - had it been a weekend I might be there myself. It's handy for me for a quick getaway - drive up Friday morning and put the awning up then come back to work, then when I finish in the evening just collect the dogs from home and go back there and everything's already done. It certainly helps to extend the weekend, especially when I don't need to leave till late on the Sunday.
I would have loved to have been there last weekend as the weather was glorious, but I've got too much to do here at the moment so no chance of getting away - looks like my first camp will be Eskdale on 9th/10th of April. I can't wait, I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms! lol

We are taking the 'van out tomorrow for the first time this year and can't wait - it's a quick getaway for us too - Ripon - only 20 minutes up the road but I don't care - nice little site by the canal - just hope the wind dies down!! Nice chatting to you!
Thanks for the info dazjo - we are members of the C&CC and have put Sykes Farm on our future "to do" list, however this time we have gone for Sandacre as we fancy being next to the sea. Cheers.
